Level 2

Okay - so here is what I decided to do when sitting higher than level 1 rounds. Play 1 table at the appropriate level and 1 table at level 1. I think that is okay.

So tonite, I sat one level 2 and one level 1 table.

Took down the level 1 table and cashed with a 3rd place finish in the level 2 table. Finally cashed.

On another note, I received word today that my Mustang engine is ready for me to pick up. See, I blew it up a couple months ago due to stupidity. Had to get it professionally rebuilt. Looks nice. I should pick it up tommorow or Thursday. Now I really need to make it through this experiment. =). Dunno yet, have to arrange the transportation.

More Level 2 Action

So I decided since I get bored out of my mind sitting one table at a time - it would be okay if at the higher levels for me to sit a level 1 table in addition to whatever level I'm on. Gave that a go tonite since I was sitting level 2.

LEVEL 2 table. I go out early with TP against a flopped straight. So I open another LEVEL 1 tables - since its my level now. Dealt KK early. Lots of action. Flop is AK10. It gets shoved so I call. Up against another flopped straight again early. I don't fill up and I'm out again. Open *another* Level 1 table. I'm BB like the third hand. Kd9d. Folds to SB who opens with 3x BB. I call. Flop is 3'd's with an Ad in there. SB shoves. I figure him on an A with me holding the nuts. I call. He flopped a set and fills on the river. Out again.

I still have my first level 1 table going. After 1.5 hours - I take it down. LOL. What a night.

I'll re-visit level 2 again tommorow!!!!

Back to Level 2.

Sat two more at Level 1 tonite. 5th in the first - 1st in the second. Get my 4th attempt at cashing in just one at Level2! Seems to be my holy grail right now. I used to play 10+1's all the time before this experiment and did fairly well. I just can't seem to get one going there. Oddly enough, I think it is because I'm "bored". You see, I'm sitting one table at a time when I get out of level 1.....and its really quite boring. I have the table on one monitor and I'm surfing the web on the other monitor. I can't help it. I have to imagine that hurts things.

Side note. I finally added Nikita's Poker blog to my links section. She's handed me my arse in many Talkingpoker.com tourney's. Provides for a very insightful read.

Well - back to level 2.

Another Go at breaking Level 1

Finished up my day at work with 1 $5.50.

Chip leader all the way to the final two and I still finished second.

More to follow latter this evening I'm sure.

Played 2 more tonite. Its a late night for me as I had to clean my golf clubs tonite as I'm golfing tommorow. =) Here's the deal.

Donked my arse out of the first in I believe 7th spot. Nothing to say other than piss poor play on my part.

Second one I took down. Interesting final three. I became slightly more aggressive than I usually play during the $ rounds. Player to my left was pretty aggro. Anytime I limped from the SB, I would get at min 4x raise from him. If I raised 3x-4x BB, he'd RR me at least pot. The other player was pretty conservative so at least my BB was mostly folded to me. I finally caught the player to my left. I was holding AQ and raised 4x BB. He RR me (standard fare for at least the last 6 orbits) so i pushed him and he called and showed A5off.

I'm not sure how I feel about playing late Friday nights and Saturday nights. I guess due to the nature of the nights, more donks are out and I tend to get alot more calls with week A's, KJ, QJ and stuff of that nature. Not that I mind, I love getting those calls because they tend to pay off in the long run. It just seems I get Rivered the majority of the times. At least thats what it seems like. Ahh well - let them keep calling and it'll catch up to me.

Moving on to Level 2. Lets hope I stay there at least past the first attempt!!! I'll save it for tommorow night. I'm tired now.

Another night of $5.50's

Nothing really exciting to report. Picked up a new video card today so I can run dual monitors on my home PC. I'm spoiled at work so I had to duplicate it at home. $79.00 for the card plus a $10.00 rebate! Go me! So I sat two tables at the same time tonite. I'm going to do that whenever I'm at the $5.50 level since I can't go any lower. =)

Sat two tonite. Finished 5th in one and 2nd in another. I guess I can't really complain because I'm cashing in the $5.50's more often than not. Just a side note on the one I finished second in. I was down to $490 in chips at one point when the blinds were 50/100. A bunch of aggression (what else is there to do when you have less than 5BB's) at a passive table got me to the final three. I took great pleasure in knocking out the #3 guy. What a fucking prick. He *was* big stack when the bubble broke. I don't know if I think its good or bad "big stack" poker in the final 3, but his technique was really quite simple. Shove, shove, shove on anything. I do that though when its heads up and I'm a big chip leader but he really wasn't that far ahead. Regardless, he got nailed by the other guy which hurt him and I did the final deed on him. Naturally he was a whiny bitch when he left, but what do you expect at a $5.50 ST SNG right?

So at the end of the day....I'm still at Level 1 after 12 tourney's....but my SNG bankroll is +17. Better than a stick in the eye.
